Discover Nederweert
Starting from the lively Horecaplein in the heart of Nederweert, this walk of around 4.2 kilometres takes you past the village's loveliest spots. Along the way you'll pass striking historic buildings, the town hall, and the impressive St. Lambertus Church, famous for its spire, fully restored in 2010. Following the Kerkstraat, you'll spot even more historic façades, each one part of Nederweert's story.
Fancy a bite or a drink before or after your walk? The Horecaplein and Kerkstraat are home to several cosy cafés and restaurants, perfect for rounding off your stroll.
Along the route, take a moment at the bronze statue of Marie-Katrien: for sixty years she delivered parcels around Nederweert and the surrounding villages, first on foot, then by wheelbarrow and dog cart, and later with her pony, Frits. A woman well ahead of her time.
A perfect way to discover the centre of Nederweert in about an hour.
