Nature reserve De IJzeren Man
De IJzeren Man is a 100-hectare recreation area with a unique mix of nature and adventure. The area takes its name from the lake of the same name, created by sand excavations for the Eindhoven-Weert railway line. De IJzeren Man is surrounded by forests, heathland and sand dunes, making it a paradise for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers.
The Weerter and Budelerbergen
The Weerter and Budelerbergen is a vast nature reserve, located on the border of the municipalities of Cranendonck and Weert in Limburg. The area is famous for its varied landscape with coniferous forests, heathlands, sand dunes and fens. Various bird species such as the skylark and the tree pipit nest on the heathlands. A large part of the Weerter and Budelerbergen is used as a military training area.
