On the Nature learning path de Paardekop there is much to see, learn and do. This journey of discovery is fun for young and old alike and becomes even more fun if you do it together. The distance of the discovery trail is about 3 kilometres.

Nature trail de Paardekop

On the Nature learning path de Paardekop, you will come across all kinds of things: a pond with stepping stones, a sod hut, a town with acidic inhabitants, a hotel you can only get into by flying and a watchtower of up to 18 metres high! At some places there is a sign with information. There is something special to see or do here.

Start and junctions

The official start of the route is at junction 31 (Peelken 2 in Ysselsteyn). From the Puttenweg (also called Peelweg), turn onto the Peelken and continue for about 550 metres to start location near house number 2. Parking is available here in front of the barrier. An alternative starting point is at junction 36 at the rear of the German War Cemetery. Here there is more ample parking in the cemetery car park and catering facilities are also available.

Follow the posts with the green band. The diagonal indicates the walking direction. You can also follow the route using the nodes.
