The start of this walking route is situated at the parking lot at the I-point of Bezoekerscentrum Leudal.
The Leumolen is located in the Leudal, a 900 ha large nature reserve that mainly consists of forest with here and there grasslands, fields and pieces of heathland. Three brooks flow through the area, the Leubeek, the Zelsterbeek and the Haelensche beek; therefore the Leudal is also called the three brooks area. About 500 ha of the area is managed by Staatsbosbeheer.
The Leumolen is a subsurface water mill of which 11 remain in Limburg. There are about 10 upper-stage mills and 20 middle-stage mills left. The 12 turbine mills have a horizontal rotating wheel.
The Natuur Informatie Pad Leudal is a nice walk to take with children.
